Illumination by Digestion

Illumination by Digestion

The farm where I grew up, used to have its own gaswell. After the introduction of the national gasnet to the farm the well became neglected and was removed. The base, a wooden pipe that reaches to the gas-rich groundwater is still there.

The idea of digging it out and having my own gas supply was tempting, but after research into this well technique I found out that the salt groundwater would damage my local environment. However the possibility of having a self sufficient gas source stayed appealing.

That is how I developed the idea to build my own biodigester. I could run it with rubbish of the farm and local companies. The process of the digester is complex but the procedure of operating it is simple. With this gas I could illuminate my workshop at the farm.
